Tips For Your First Time

Tip #1: Research the subject. No one likes a stupid newbie. Know what you are doing and the rules of the game.

Tip #2: Go to a field you know of first. Don't make the mistake of going in the woods behind your house and shooting each other without any common sense. Matt's Outback Paintball in Coventry, CT, is the perfect place for beginners and experienced players of all sorts to play. For you first time, also go play with someone you know. Two newbie minds aren't better than one experienced player, but they are better than on newbie. Bring a friend.

Tip #3: Know your equipment. Take all safety precautions. Learn about your marker, and all the gear used. Always wear a certified paintball mask, and never take it off on the field, no matter what. You don't want to catch a paintball in your eyes. Taking off a mask can also result in expulsion from a field. Be considerate of other players. If you shoot someone, don't keep shooting them. One well placed shot will do the job. Learn all the parts that work with the gun. If you need to know more about equipment, see the equipment page.

Tip #4: No cheating. Cheating in paintball is commonly known as wiping. This is when a player wipes the paint of themselves after being shot, and keeps on playing. Cheating is not only wrong, it spoils the game for honest players, and if your caught, you can get thrown out of the field. You also would get a reputation for being a wiper, and always be known as a cheater.

Tip #5: Don't be timid. Be aggressive, but don't over do it, because you likely to get shot easily by a more experienced player. Your more likely to be bunkered if you cower behind something though. Watch more experienced players and learn from them. Most importantly, have fun, and enjoy this awesome sport.

#2: Keep barrel plugs in while not playing.

#3: Only shoot at what your supposed to. This means no refs, crowds, teammates, anyone who is already out, somebody's stuff, animals, ect.
